Voluntary Departure Period : October 1, 2018 ~ March 31, 2019
Foreigners voluntarily leaving within this period will not be subject to entry regulations, regardless of period of overstay. (Including overseas Koreans with no matching identity)
Foreigners caught in crackdown will be subject to entry regulations for a maximum 10 years and can be notified to the government of their home country.
The Ministry of Justice will reinforce measures against illegal employment in industries such as construction or adult entertainment and massage, where encroachment on the domestic job market as well as impediment to the Korean culture are concerned.
Penalties, including suspension of business, are planned to be imposed on employment agencies
supplying ineligible foreigners.
Foreigners who are caught working in the construction industry illegally will be deported immediately regardless of allowed period of stay. (“One Strike Out”policy)
This “One Strike Out” policy will be equally applied to all foreigners, including foreign students, family
members of marriage immigrants, and overseas Koreans illegally working in the industry fields mentioned above.
Foreigners who did not leave voluntarily and are caught in crackdown will be deported immediately, and their information can be notified to the government of their home country.
Those who voluntarily depart will not have their information be notified to their home country.
